The 4th Annual Golf Scramble in Napa, CA
Patra Proud is an initiative I’m very passionate about, as giving back to the community is paramount in my book. Patra Proud is Patra’s philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting the children and families of active military members. Through this program, we’re able to supply children with the tools they need for a bright future, including backpacks, school supplies, and clothing. Patra Proud also helps fund a variety of school sports programs and scholarship programs for older children.
Each year we host fundraising events to support this initiative, my favorite is our Annual Golf Scramble held each year at the Chardonnay Golf Club in Napa, CA. For the 4th year in a row, we gathered for an amazing time spent putting on the green, raising an astonishing $26,400.
Patra Proud’s generous sponsors helped make this the best year yet! What could be better than practicing your aim while doing good at the same time? Guests were entertained by golf ball cannons, on-course games, and entertainment as well as a putting and long-drive contest. We also had a TrackMan radar so our golfers could analyze their put before, during and after hitting the ball – thrilling participants.
Each year we strive to grow this event to greater heights and garner more donations for our cause. The annual charity event isn’t the only way we raise money through Patra Proud, however. Throughout the year we also receive donations through our Employee Giving Campaign/Patra Match program. Tis’ the season for giving back, so we’ve also partnered with AmazonSmile to make donating easy. We’re proud to say that during the course of 2019 so far, we’ve raised a total of $38,500 – and we’re still going. The list of the organizations that have benefited from these donations in 2019 includes Hands for Hope, First Tee of Great SAC, Akers Parents Teacher Club in Lemoore, Fallon Officer Spouse Club, Military Police Regimental Associations Fort Campbell, Sideout Volleyball Lemoore Naval Base youth players and the Armed Services YMCA Fort Cambell.
Our employees and their families are what make the annual golf event possible each year – making up the biggest portion of our volunteers.
